As a Certified Patent Practitioner and Certified Licensing Professional with over a decade of experience in successful patent preparation and prosecution, including commendation by the Patent Trials and Appeal Board, Timothy has helped multiple companies – medical, agricultural, mechanical, electrical, software, and more – successfully obtain patents on key technology tightly focused on commercial value, and proposed creative business solutions pivotal to monetizing patent portfolios and resolving inter-company tensions.
Timothy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University’s Biomedical Engineering program (studying biomechanics, bioelectronics, and biomaterials), in addition to a minor in mathematics, as an Honors Research Scholar. His graduate work on cardiovascular regeneration mechanics was published in the ASME Journal of Medical Devices. Timothy’s career includes product development experience across medical, agricultural, and consumer goods. His product development experience spanned engineering design to hands-on prototyping, machining, and fabrication.
Timothy most recently served as Patent Prosecution Chair at a boutique patent firm, where he led and trained an expanding team of patent attorneys and agents in growing high-value patent portfolios for technology entrepreneurs in software, electrical, energy, medical, mechanical, and consumer industries, and provided analysis and strategies pivotal to settling and avoiding litigation and supporting successful licenses. Timothy has led successful patent prosecution and portfolio development for high-profile startups, and built successful patent portfolios for publicly traded companies.

With a practice spanning innovation exploration and discovery; patent drafting, prosecution, and appeals, he enjoys implementing creative patent strategies that provide critical protection to empower startups and established businesses alike to grow.
Timothy volunteers with the National Council on Patent Practicum, where he is part of the team implementing the first US standardized qualification exam for patent practitioners to demonstrate excellence and expertise in patent drafting and prosecution.
